How it started
AquaScape began in 2019 in a single-car garage on the south side of Glasgow. The plan was straightforward: source the plants, rocks and driftwood that competition aquascapers use and sell them locally without the import wait. The first order was 40 tissue-culture cups from Tropica and two boxes of Seiryu stone from a quarry in Chengdu. Within three months the garage ran out of space and we moved to the Govan Road warehouse.
What we do
We import, test and sell materials for planted aquariums. That covers tissue-culture plants from Tropica and Dennerle, natural hardscape, LED lighting from Twinstar and Chihiros, CO2 kits, and stainless-steel tools from ADA. Rocks get a pH test. Driftwood soaks for 14 days minimum. Plants are checked for algae and pests. If something does not pass it does not ship.
The warehouse
We are at 795 Govan Rd, Glasgow G51 3JW. The unit is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. You can hand-pick individual stones and driftwood, browse the plant fridge, and ask us anything about your setup. Free parking outside. If you order online, select Glasgow Pickup at checkout and we email you when it is ready. Most pickups are packed within a couple of hours.
What is next
In 2026 we are expanding the tissue-culture range to include Eriocaulon cinereum, Tonina fluviatilis and Bucephalandra cultivars from Borneo. We are also building a workshop space at the back of the warehouse for monthly hardscape layout sessions and beginner planting clinics starting spring. Drop us an email if you want to know when those launch.
